Isomaltulose
Isomaltulose, also known as palatinose, is a natural carbohydrate disaccharide that is extracted from sugar beets. It is a health-safe sweetener that provides the same sweetness as sucrose (sugar), but with several different properties.
Isomaltulose is slowly digested and absorbed in the digestive tract, which means that glucose and fructose are released gradually into the blood. As a result, isomaltulose has a low glycaemic index (GI) and does not cause a spike in blood sugar levels after consumption. Instead, it provides a slow and steady supply of energy.
Because of its sustained energy release, isomaltulose is supportive of endurance performance and reduces fatigue during physical activity. It contributes to maintaining energy and endurance during sports or long-term activities.
